Erika Boyd is a highly skilled and compassionate Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) specializing in family practice, with a wealth of experience and expertise in critical care nursing. Erika’s journey in healthcare began with her Associate of Science in Nursing (ADN) from the College of Central Florida, followed by a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with a Family Nurse Practitioner concentration from Chamberlain University.

As a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Erika’s clinical expertise encompasses primary care and urgent care for patients of all ages, chronic disease management, and women’s health services. She is proficient in performing a wide range of procedures common to primary care, including ear lavage, incision and drainage, and suturing, as well as providing comprehensive patient education and monitoring.

Prior to her current role as an APRN at the Cardiovascular Institute of Central Florida, Erika served as a Registered Nurse (RN) in various critical care settings, including the CVICU and Cardiac Catheterization Lab at HCA Florida Ocala Hospital. Her experience as a charge nurse and preceptor, along with her specialized training in hemodynamic monitoring and cardiac procedures, has equipped her with valuable skills in managing complex patient cases.

In addition to her clinical practice, Erika is dedicated to education and professional development. She served as an Adjunct Clinical Instructor at Rasmussen University, providing instruction and supervision to RN students in the clinical setting. Erika is an active member of professional organizations such as the American Association of Critical Care Nurses and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, where she stays abreast of the latest advancements in healthcare.
